Terachrome Lighting Technology
Improved Color Control for Lighting
This diagram illustrates a typical luminaire’s color processing. Terachrome’s ease-of-use advantages become apparent when a single hue and saturation control replaces four or more individual level control channels.
Competitive hue/saturation control technologies lack smoothness, accuracy, brightness, or gamut coverage—and often all four. These shortcomings are particularly visible with five or more emitter colors. Please see the color science page for reasons why more colors provide better aesthetics.
Terachrome is available in algorithm, software, or hardware IP. The actual architecture of the color conversion function depends on the design of the luminaire, and whether calibration for LED emitter variation is performed through binning, during manufacturing, or after installation at the venue.
